Colombia Receives Its Ninth T-6C Texan Aircraft

The Colombian Air Force (FAC) received its ninth Beechcraft T-6C Texan II aircraft on June 27, which will be designated as FAC 2358. This aircraft will join the other eight already in operation with Combat Squadron 116, where they are used to train pilots in the basic flight phase.

Colombia plans to acquire a total of 24 T-6C units to replace the aging Cessna T-37B Tweet and Cessna A-37B. These aircraft are known for their safety, reliability, and maneuverability at both low and high speeds, making them ideal for rigorous pilot training.

The first units arrived in 2021 and were quickly integrated into operational service. As of now, the FAC has nine aircraft, with 15 more yet to be delivered.
